Born in Penrith, New South Wales, Australia; a child of a housing commission estate, Harkness developed, at young age, a serious love of poetry. While still in primary school, Harkness won a scholarship to a prestigious private school. Upon completing high school, Harkness briefly pursued a professional career in journalism and secured a position with the NSW Newspaper, The Advocate. He was considered something of a prodigy in creative writing but soon decided he was unable, to call journalism creative writing. He then relocated to Adelaide, to attend Flinders University of South Australia, studying Drama and Film, which led to his undertaking a Masters Degree in these disciplines. In between his studies, Harkness completed more than 20 short films, enjoying numerous festival successes and awards. He also continued to hone his craft by directing commercials and documentaries and it was at this time that he conceived the feature film, Shot Of Love. - English comedienne Lily Ward born in the early 1890's. She could pull many different funny facial expressions, which made her one of the biggest stars in the Yorkshire film industry. Lily starred in more than 30 silent short comedies under the direction of Cecil Birch in 1914-15, making her debut in 'How Winky Whacked the Germans' starring Reggie Switz as Winky, Lily often starred opposite her husband Alf Scotty in many 'Scottie' comedies in 1915, she also starred in her own 'Lily' comedies for the Bamforth Film Co based in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire. The first World War caused Bamforth Co Ltd to cease film production at the end of 1915, the Company were never to return to this field of entertainment with all resources now being concentrated on postcard production. Lily Ward or Warde moved to the Pyramid Film Company in late 1915 starring in Leslie Henson comedies and the 'Jolly' comedies.

Marsh was an Australian professional cricketer who played as a wicketkeeper for the Australia national team.
Marsh had a Test career spanning from the 1970 -71 to the 1983-84 Australian season. In 96 test matches, he set a world record of 355 wicketkeeping dismissals.
Marsh had a controversial start to his Test career, selected on account of his batting abilities. Sections of the media lampooned Marsh's glovework, dubbing him "Iron Gloves" after sloppy catching in his debut Test. His keeping improved over time and by the end of his career he was regarded as one of the finest in the history of the sport.
